Some vocations are chosen. Others find you in the dark.

Mine found me in the year 2000, in the wake of losing my father to suicide. I was twenty-nine years old,
old enough to know loss, young enough to be undone by it. It was more than a turning point. It was the experience that forced me to ask harder questions about grief, about healing, and about the limits of the systems meant to hold us.

Grief arrived not as something to be solved, but as a landscape I had no map for. And what I found in searching for one was this: intellectual frameworks alone are never enough. Trauma doesn't live in the mind alone. It settles into the body like sediment, encoding itself within the nervous system, quietly reorganising identity, shaping the breath and the stories we tell ourselves about who we are and whether we are safe.

That understanding changed everything about how I approached healing.

Both my own, and eventually, others'.

What began as the most personal of reckonings matured into a clinical vocation oriented toward depth and rigour.

This work is not something I arrived at. It is something I was shaped by.

Professional

Depth & Training

Over more than two decades, I have undertaken extensive advanced training in body-based psychotherapy, trauma integration, and relational healing. My work sits at the intersection of clinical depth, embodied practice, and the ongoing evolution of trauma-informed care.

I am an Advanced Level Teaching Assistant, Session Provider, and Case Consultation Provider with the Somatic Experiencing® Trauma Institute, supporting the training and development of practitioners internationally.

My formation integrates four primary streams:

  • Characterological depth psychology
Core Energetics and Reichian Psychotherapy, working with the structure of personality, defence patterns, and embodied expression

  • Nervous system integration
Somatic Experiencing® and somatic-based therapeutic approaches, alongside specialised training with Kathy Kain in Somatic Therapeutic Touch, incorporating bodywork and Ortho-Bionomy principles.
This work supports the resolution of trauma through the regulation and renegotiation of the nervous system

  • Developmental and prenatal foundations
NeuroAffective Touch® and the Ray Castellino Method, addressing early attachment, developmental trauma, and pre-verbal imprints

  • Emerging therapeutic modalities
Psychedelic Assisted Therapy training through the Psychedelic Institute Australia, with a focus on integration and ethical application

This work is continually supported by ongoing clinical supervision, advanced professional development, and active contribution to practitioner training and consultation.

Philosophy &
Reform Vision

Trauma does not exist in isolation. It shapes how we relate, lead, parent, and build systems. When misunderstood, it becomes reenactment.

When integrated, it becomes leadership.

My work extends beyond the therapy room. Through education, professional training, and public discourse, I advocate for higher standards in trauma informed practice and for reform that is embodied rather than performative.

Healing is personal. Reform is collective. Both demand depth.

This work is not about trends or hacks.
It is about responsibility, integrity,
and embodied leadership — practised consistently and held with care.

“Trauma, when met with depth, becomes integration.”
